One more Hulcherama question

Hi list/Gary,

Three additional questions:

1) Did all Hulcherama's, including those of the first hour, allow lenses
to be changed?
I just talked to someone about one with a 35mm Mamiya lens, and he
thought it could not be changed (and hence was surprised by my
question about additional gear-sets for other focal lenghts).

2) What is the most determinating factor in the
'back-focal-distance'?
More specifically: since I already own a Canon TS-E 24mm shift lens
(officially claimed image circle is 58mm, while the diagonal of a 24x58mm
frame (24x36 plus 11mm shift in both directions) is 63mm), it would
be cool to be able to use that lens as well.

(even more so since fisheyes appear not to be a an option with these
relatively wide slits; on authority of Dan Slater (the creator of
the fascinating *digital* 220x360 panorama's, using 6mm Nikkors and a
very small slit (row of pixels!))

3) Is the camera/lens combination 'balanced' enough to allow smooth
vertical or diagonal panoramas? [the amount of subjects suitable
for this 'format' is much less, but the effect with swing-lens
cameras is really impressive....and I intend to do the same with a
full-swing camera, at least starting with 180-270 degrees]

Thanx a bunch, as always!
