I made some closeup filters for my Horizon. The optical shop
that made my eye glasses sold me 75 mm diameter polycarbonate
lenses for $12 each. One for infinity at 4 meters
and another for 2 meters. I saw a rough disk out of the center
with a jewelers saw and finish shape it with a file.
I tried for months to find glass lenses with no luck.

I would be concerned about centering of the elements. Can cause uneven
resolution (just as if the lens were tilted). We call out centering fairly tightly for our
elements. Try Edmund Scientific or Rolyn optics for elements. Rolyn will even edge down
the outside diameter to your specs.
