dear sir or madam, as the case may be: let's begin with a compliment: i loved you e.e. cummings lower case typing. i shall reply with a situation which is meant to explain where i am coming from. i was in cairo in 1965 working as a special on julian blaustein's "khartoum." i was on my second movie job as a special. first was "thunderball," both for united artists. yakima cannutt was the action direction. his two his sons worked the picture as stunt men. joe cannutt was gonna do extra pay stunt wherein he was  set afire for a few seconds. crew with fire extinguishers were on both sides, just out of frame.the unit photographers with the five fps nikons complained to me that it was unfair what i was doing. i was using my 10fps high speed (6x12cm)
simon/wide which did up to 10fps, 70mm, 1440th second or less, bracketed during run and had 100ft roll of film. hulcher built this for me in 1964. price of mods equaled camera itself. to the unit photog i replied "all right, i'll hold it down to five fps."  it was the right thing to do. simon nathan

my dear simon,

sometimes it is difficult to synthesize a new idea; especially if we are
attached to our old ones.  All you can do is throw it out there and hope that
it will be of use to someone.  If you see you idea as a ball, notice that
there are no strings connecting you to the ball.  If the ball is missed or if
the ball is caught or if the ball is hit is no reflection on you, but simply
a
reflection of those to whom you pitch it.  We must be detached from our
ideas.  The attachment causes the conflict, the pain, the hurt feelings, the
shock, etc.  To pitch a ball at all we must let go of it.  Does that help?
