Re: L.L. Bean!
yes, the late frits rogans, amsterdam, built a temporary panoramic camera for my south pole trip in 1962. it used (loaner) magazines from his system. they were based on f-46 torpedo camera in that they had addition filn plane distance rearward to allow for heavy brass plated to allow gor hasselblad-like darkslides. i also carried my own f-46 magazines to mcmurdoo. they had no darkslide so were not interchangeable on to frits-built camera. frits camera had my 121mm f. 8 schneider super angulon which had not yet acquired a focusing mount. navy gave me a picture of with this frits-built at arizona memorial in honolulu on way back to mainland. we had the lens set at hyper focal distance. lens was removed from camera and schneider made focusing mount for me. frits took back, or should i say accepted, his film magazines. i itched, i ached to have a better camera than i'd made in 1961, but with which i did wraparound panoramic cover of the book "life's guide to paris." as for do i ever laugh, this letter made me laugh. simon nathan i did not understand the qustion that ended your message. can you clarify this bit of whimsy please.
