April Meeting - update

Dear Colleagues,

I have made arrangements with Carol Johnson, Curator of Photographs at the Library of
Congress, Washington, DC, for a tour of their facilities as it relates to panoramic photography.
This tour would take place on Thursday, April 6. Carol has also arranged for the Library's
photographic conservator to give a talk on their methods for dealing with antique panoramic
prints.

Carol says that due to limited space, a tour would be limited to 20 people. However, if more
people are present she is willing to conduct separate morning and afternoon tours.

Another chat-line / IAPP member has a possible contact at the Smithsonian Institution.
The best of all worlds would have one group go to the Library while the other goes to the
Smithsonian. After lunch they would switch. Another possibility - if Smithsonian does not
come through, is for the group(s) to see the photographic exhibit "Picturing the Century",
which is on display at the Washington, DC facility of the National Archives.

I'll keep you informed as more develops.

Thanks, RES
