Hi there Collin..nice t'meet ya mate!
Your machine sounds awesome frankly. I believe the Sienna folk actually
make a whole range of these "Digital engines" and we'll find them in nearly
all of the digital minilabs.
I believe also that your Konica machine is ine of the first all digital
beatsies around and they seem to have sorted out a lot of the problems. We
are waiting for details of the new Agfa all digital minilab now due to be
released in Feb at PMA we are told, however I also think we will wait until
generation 2 before buying. Recently one of our opposition shops here
installed the Fuji all digital system and they are having a real ball with
it.
I recently had one of my Horozont images blowb up and printed in Wellington
on a Durst Lambda printer and was quite blown away at the quality. I dont
believe you could enlarge the image by traditional darkroom to that size
and still appreciate the picture at close range without grain degradation.
At 1.7 meters long it was just as smooth as... with no grain and I had to
look very closely to find any pixelation. Very impressive, but at $ 185.00
per print not for the faint hearted eh.
Cheers and Kia ora from New Zealand
