Fan Cirkut operating info. needed.

I'm meeting a lady Saturday who has her grandfather's Cirkut and wants me
to explain all there is to know. From her description, I'm pretty sure it
is a fan #6 Outfit. All my experience is with governor drives. Can anyone
give me a quicky lesson in how the operation of a fan Cirkut might be
different? I understand the different fans give differerent speeds. If she
doesn't have any fans, can it be run with no fan (what approx. speed)?
Other than attaching a fan, I assume you wind it up and use it like any
other Cirkut. Can it be this simple? If I get talked into cleaning and
lubing the magazine, is there anything different on taking one apart
compared to later Cirkuts?
