High Glenn, Most of the weight on the Manfiotto head is the leaving part it is heavy. But you can buy just the panoramic part which is not heavy. Just mount the pan part on the tripoid and your standard ball head on it. I use all the time. The weight is in that leaving part its great but you can do with out it. James Romeo

Hi all,

I know that this has been discussed, but I have lost the bookmark that I
had. Can someone point me in the direction of a supplier for panoramic
tripod heads. I believe that Kaidan make a good one, but I have lost the
link that I had. Any other that you can recommend. I have seen the
deluxe Manfrotto, nice, HEAVY and would need a Llama to carry it any
distance! I need one that can be adjusted to rotate around the rear
nodal point of the lens, which rules out the Nikon one.
