Actually, with the lens stopped down to f45 you can get as close as 1.9 
meters. I know this isn't "closeup" by most standards, but it isn't too bad - 
just slow.

I've been wondering the same thing but haven't tried it yet. If you do try 
it, and have success, l'd be interested in hearing about it.
