Tripod and head for panoramic photography

Hi,

I pretty new to panoramic photography and wish to
purchase a tripod and head for shooting these. I'd
be very interested to hear of anyone's thoughts and
experiences with various tripods and heads.

My camera is a Sony DSC F505 digital camera.
