Ron.....after a clean and lube I ran the mechanism
lots of times to see if I could spot anything obvious and I did!
At slower speeds you can see the gear train
pulsing........the gear that matches the band width momentarily slows down then
speeds up again. It's like watching the timing marks on a car engine with a
strobe light.....you know how they show up and appear to be stopped even though
the engine is turning over continuosly.
The gear is a blur...but every now and then you see
two or three teeth as if they've stopped. Something must be dragging or catching
to do this......is this a sign of something worn in there.....maybe worn
bushes?
Any ideas?
