3DIMAX website, anaglyph animation experiment

Attention Webusers! (and web abusers!) and people who have been discussing
the IMAX technology:
I found the Sony IMAX web site has a good page or two devoted solely to their
3d technology. There are some nice pictures of the IMAX equipment, and
Quicktime movies of the equipment in action. All of the technology is very
impressive (even the 2D stuff is amazing)... and many of the questions that
have been posted here (frame rates, the headsets... etc.) are answered at
the site:

Elswhere in the IMAX site are a couple of "Across the Sea of Time" pages,
which contain a short history of 3-d, and a bit on the process of
transferring those stereo cards to the big screen.
Also, I spent some time last night experimenting, doing some very crude 3-D
anaglyph animations in Macromedia Director (making the letters 3 and D fly
around) . I had to play with the contrast on my monitor a bit, but it worked
surprisingly well, I was shocked! In the next couple of weeks, I'm going to
try come up with something with more of a story, export it as a playable
document and upload it to one of the ftp sites. Anybody else out there doing
this kind of thing?
Enjoy!
-Eric
