Realist flash bracket

I just picked up my first Stereo Realist camera and discovered "the
flash bracket problem". None of the conversion schemes in the old
digests looked that good. So I tried a different one (no adapters
and no permanent altercations to the camera or flash):

I removed the flash bracket (just three teeny tiny screws), replaced
them with slightly longer ones with about 1/16 inch of tiny washers
between the camera and the bracket. This effectivly lowers the center
contact so that a modern flash can slide on. A solid machined metal
spacer would be better, but more work than the (three pairs of) washers.

Still required is a slight spreading of the sides of the bracket and
a stopper to keep the flash from sliding in too far.

Happy tinkering,

Barry Bronson
