Tinkering with the Red Button

It's good to read Barry Bronson's tinkering with the Realist red-
button viewer. Some people find the 2W halogen (2.5V, 0.8A) too
bright. Barry has the courage to publicly admit that he finds the No.
245 "truly wimpy and yellow" and go for the big 10W.
So do I, and I did something about it too. Here is a list of halogen
screw base bulbs that I offer for sale and will fit and work in your
Realist red-button viewer. In terms of increasing power:
1.25W 2.5V 0.5A -- The Wimpy
2.0W 2.5V 0.8A -- The Standard
6.0W 6.0V 1.0A -- The Bright
10W 6.0V 1.6A -- The Extra Bright
All these are halogen bulbs with a screw base so you can use the
regular lamp holder. They are slightly taller but you can file the
top and bottom a bit and make them fit. The first two will now be
offered with optional frosted glass to eliminate shadows.
I carry all of them and sell them for the lowest price in the USA.
I only had one customer from ROC order a 6V bulb. Too many wimps
around...
In adittion to these bulbs I have regulated power supplies that will
support the Standard and the Bright bulbs. They come with either US
or European/International transformers. No one has ordered the 6V
supply or a European version of the 3V. I need to work more to educate
the public...
