Re: Ten Watt Red ButtonBlazing Buttons

Seems as if we're arriving at BRIGHT viewers in a variety of ways. When
I used my last 80 volt bulb in my Kodak II---and before I realized that
Dr. T had captured the world market for those bulbs---I tried using
a 120 volt version running on 180 volts from a transformer. It works
very well, probably with about the same dissipation as the 80 at 120,
at least it doesn't overheat appreciably with my personal viewing
duty cycle. (And the rheostat seems just fine too.)
But my question is whether there is a perceptible difference between
the quasi point source of the halogen bulb and the more distributed
(quasi diffuse) source of the bigger bulb. I seem to recall that
that there are two corresponding schools of thought about light
sources for enlargers.
Any, forgive please, light to shed?
John Dukes
