Re: Dissolves for 3-D projectors

Of course, one thing not mentioned, is that the tricky part is
the person(s) changing slides in those manual slide changers. To
do things *really* proper, one needs stereo projectors with automatic
slide feeding, like pairs of 2x2 slide projectors are now. Else
an agressive program will have manual slide changers
*really* flying their fingers around.

For now, one could have three people... one for each
of two projectors and one for Sid's dual light faders (although
they'd have to feed internally to keep the fans happy -- but
projectors with no fans would work well). The faders might
want to have a mechanical assist -- like a bow with a loop
in the cordded-portion -- around the knobs. The one going on
will go on at the end of the knob travel, and the one going off
will go off real-fast. Most home light controllers have the
"problem" that there's a brightness 'jump' at the top end,
but switching them *fast* would minimize the jumpiness.
One would have to find pretty powerful ones to handle the
typical 1KW (or more) that projectors use.
