BobH spoke of his cornea implant, hard contacts and reading glasses.
Well folks....I also wear gas-permeable (rigid) contacts which correct my
astigmatism and (please forgive the shouting) THEY ARE TRIFOCAL SO THAT THAT I
DON'T NEED THE READING GLASSES. They are MUCH better than my trifocal
glasses! So-I get my eye right up to the camera viewfinder & I can see the
camera markings to set shutter speeds & f/stops.
I don't need 'extra' glasses for the computer screen either.
These lenses take care of the distance vision, astigmatism and presbyopia
in both eyes. None of that 'mono-vision' (one eye for reading, one eye for
distance) stuff for this 3D fanatic!
Some of the other Senior Citizens on this list might be interested in them.
I wore another bifocal contact design about 15 years ago (Varifocal design) but
it can't be made with enough close-up power for me now.
This lense design (NewView^2 from the Hydrokinetic Contact Lens Company, Inc.)
has been around for about 5 or 6 years and there aren't many optometrists that
know how to fit them, but the Dr. that I see helped design & test them.
Write me if you want more info on these lenses.
