Hello everyone.
This is my first attempt at a posting (after loitering with intent for a while)
so wish me luck!
Apropos 3d pictures of the famous: in the introduction to  _3D Hollywood_
mention is made of the fact that Harold Lloyd was the first president of the
Hollywood Stereoscopic Society, formed in 1950: members included Dick Powell,
Art Linkletter, Ronald Colman and Edgar Bergen. Members of this society were in
a position to stereograph a whole galaxy of 50s stars, and what we see in _3D
Hollywood_ probably only scratches the surface of what might be available. Does
anybody know if there is any surviving record or archive of the Hollywood Stereo
Society, or any way of getting access to its members' collections? There may be
more pictures of MarilynLiving in the UK it's hard for me to check, but some of
our readers are in the locality, are they not?  I'm sure there's another book
there if someone could do the research.

Speaking as a newcomer, this seems an excellent mailing list--stereo people the
world over are a friendly bunch. The posting on forensic stereo, for example,
was full of new and fascinating information. I'd like to see a bit more material
on old stereo views--I'll maybe try to start a discussion on a related theme
sometime
