Optic Mirage from Edumnd for 3-D image

I am looking for info on Optic Mirage from Edmund Scientific. (#E72,381 on
Edmund's 1995 catalog, page 217)
It looks like two dishes upside down on top of other with inside mirror
coated. Very simple.
It generates a realistic 3-D image on top of the disc. You want to touch the
object but there is nothing there.
I liked it very much. However, I would like to know how it exactly works.
Can somebody explain me the followings?

1. Are the mirror surfaces spherical, parabolic or others?
2. Is the object at the focal plane of the mirror?
3. Is the image real or virtual?
4. Any other vendors that sell larger ones? (Edmund sells only 9" dia ones.)
5. Any patent information about the product?

Any information about the Optic Mirage would be greatly appreciated.
I contacted Edmund for information but failed.

Eung-Gi.
