Stereojournalists
1. 3-D TV.
I don't really get good enough reception that a tape would be worthwile, so
I'm going
to call this "Videograf" company and see what I can find. They are located
not far from my home, so I'm hoping that I could even pay a visit.
2. Halogen
Got my new halogen bulbs from Dr. George, and was surprised that
I loved the brighter 0.8v bulbs. Highly recommended!
3. Roll #2 a great success
I also mounted some shots from my second roll of film, and had much better
results second
time around. I used the old Realist flashbulb to take a picture of our
family
home in Montreal from way across the street at midnight, and the whole thing
was bright and in focus! For other shots, I used the electronic flash
adapter
I made per the instructions posted here, and it worked very well. I can't
wait to show my family the results this weekend. I'm also improving
my mounting skills, and finally understand the concepts of "rotation" and
"stereo window," which previously mystified me.
4. For Posterity
I think there were too many pictures of Marilyn in the Lloyd book, and was
not
happy with the way the pairs were printed and viewable. My girlfriend
complained that she couldn't even see them correctly. One of the lenses of
the viewer prismed the light a little bit, making it harder to see.
I think that may have detracted from the saleability of the book to people
not
"used to" 3-D. (Not like us, who can pull our eyeballs out if we needed
to.)
I, of course, loved it anyway.
But we all know that Stereo photography captures people in a way conventional
photography can't (that's why we're here...) People may not know it yet,
but the world needs 3-d documentation of famous people and historic events.
I'm making it a goal to find such things to document.
This Sunday, I'm going to try to get Bill, Hillary, H. Kissinger and Shimon
Perez,
as I've scored choice tickets to the Middle east peace rally at Madison
Square Garden.
I don't know how close I'm going to be able to get... but I'll give it a good
shot. At
least we'll have a document of the event...
