Also in bobcat in the technical folder is a diagram called
camwin.gif.  It resembles the ASCII drawing Joel just did
but perhaps adds a little more info.  

Note that when Joel says...

...he's talking about the inner portions of the transparencies  
as mounted in the camera, not as mounted in the slide.  You 
must rotate a chip 180 degrees when you take it out of the
camera and put it into the slide mount.
