Ack!  This is getting ridiculous!  Maybe we need a FAQ?  8-)  8-)
It's silly but by the same token, you must add to the outer as
the thing sits in the camera.

Realistically, what you're going to do is to pull the chips
outwards in the slide mount and be done with it.  That way the
right eye sees more of the left side of its view and less of
the right side of its view and of course for the left eye, 
vice-versa.
