Re: autofocus

I would say from my experiences with point and shoots is that autofocus
works well MOST of the time. The problem is that you don't know when it
won't. I have lost some good shots due to one camera focusing on a different
area than the other. So my opinion now is that I would prefer not to have
autofocus, or at least have it an option. But this is only practical on full
size SLR's as you can easily set correct focus manually. The new point and
shoots don't have a good way to set manual focus. Some do have pre selected
focus ability using a switch or partially pushed shutter button, but this is
very difficult or impossible to use with two electrically synch'ed cameras'
from my experiences. Your only other choice is fixed focus. I would choose
auto over fixed.
The great benefit of autofocus (and auto everything else) is the very quick
grab shot. Twinned point and shoots are so easy to use that you find
yourself chewing up film faster than you thought possible , or at least
faster than you can afford :-)
