Hello Again!

Hi there!

During the past year, I got laid off from my mainframe computer job and went to
back to college.  Since my courses began, last May, I have had little time to
participate in this forum.  I am now on Christmas / New Year's break and have
been reviewing many months worth of photo-3d digests.  I am up to mid-June, just
before the Atlanta convention.  I am sure that those red and blue glasses are
making the task harder than it needs to be. <g>

One of my courses was "Large Format Photography and Studio Lighting," using 4x5"
view cameras.  At first, I felt lost working in only two dimensions and no
colors.  I had been used to Stereo Realists, and other 3-D cameras, for a dozen
years.  As the semester progressed, I began experimenting with the 4x5 and
tabletop stereo pictures.  My final course project was a group of Ilfochrome
Classic (Cibachrome) contact prints of Ektachrome transparencies, mounted
over-and-under for viewing with a View-Magic.  If anyone is interested, I can
send you, or the list, the details of working with 4x5" stereo and setting the
stereo window in the camera, at the time the exposures are made!

As some of you may know, I was working on a stereo photography book before
becoming a student.  At present, it is about 270 pages long, with 160
illustrations.  I am looking for a few people who would like to have a peek at
it and give me some thoughts about the content.  It covers many things
frequently discussed on this forum, including old stereo cameras, new stereo
cameras, picture taking, viewers, projectors, darkroom, movies, TV, prices, etc.
I can make the text (only) available on a 1.44MB diskette in Word Perfect (for
Windows) 6.1 format.
