Re: ...small purple colored metal folding viewer

Hi Dan et al,

Sounds like you found a Keystone Jr. viewer, which they began producing in
1933 with views of the Century of Progress expo in Chicago. I don't know
what they're worth; a friend recently bought one with (if I recall correctly)
some Expo views for $90. I consigned a viewer to John Saddy for one of his
auctions, but haven't yet learned what it brought. In his book John Waldsmith
doesn't mention a value for the viewer, but remarks that the views are
"usually half the value of full-size views" except for certain unusual
subjects. A set of 60 general expo views with viewer he valued (in 1991) at
$175-200. Elsewhere he values the expo views alone at $6-10 each. A 25-view
set called "Wings of a Century" is valued at $100-125; a 25-card set called
"Midget Village" for $200-250.
What's the asking price on the one you've seen?

Best wishes and happy new year to all,
Andy Burr
