Expo II
Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah!
(Three cheers for Joel Alpers for making Expo II a reality.)
>2. We'll make the shipping easier and smaller, and trust the postal
> service (or UPS if you prefer) ...
As a person who relies on a Post Office Box for all my mail I vote for mail
service (UPS and the like can't/won't deliver to PO Box addresses) In 15
years of wandering around Alaska I've never had the USPS let me down. Just
try having UPS or FedEx deliver a package to: General Delivery, Kweethluk,
AK ; )
I suppose UPS might be more convenient for some but is the extra expense
really worth it?
> 5. There will be _some_ entry fee ($5?) ...
Sounds reasonable to me ...
> I would like to have a submission deadline in the 2/15 timeframe.
Great!, is the mailing order going to be by the arrival of entries? If so
I'll have a couple slides in the mail this weekend ; ) Just give me an
address!
But this brings up a question: how many should I send? My friends have all
seen my current collection and I have them memorized, so its no hassle if
they're winging their way around the globe for a year or so, what's the
proper etiquette? A half dozen?
I'm fond of the slide holders that fit a 3-ring binder. I'd be happy to
donate a binder when I send in my entry.
Technical considerations aside, I'm really excited to meet you all through
your photographs as well as your words. Having seen only my own realist
slides, some dimly remembered View-master reels as a kid, and a selection
of Dr. T's slides when he sold me a most excellent red buton viewer, I'm
starved for more 3-d photography. 3D Expo II will, I'm sure, be a highlight
whenever it arrives.
Happy (belated) New Year to all ...
