I haven't tried this but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Again you would
have to remember that on viewing the slide correctly (e.g. with the image
oriented correctly looking through the base) the left hand panel of the
slide is actually the correct image for the right eye.
On the other hand one of the beauties of the single full frame dual image
format is that the two panels are in fully registered alignment with each
other. Not having to mount the images independently avoids vetical parallax
errors.
