Come Watson (Dr.T) We need you!

Derek pointed out that he remounted a deteriorated yet valuable V-M reel so
that he could enjoy it. Now that's the way to go!
With a reel that has fallen apart, the collector value is gone anyway but
to try to reconstruct the reel to enjoy the images is a worthwhile
venture albeit a time consuming one.
In the past when I have tried to glue down an image, I have had
difficulty in aligning the images so that the stereo effect is
not disturbed. That's reason one why I don't do it. However, in all
the discussion here on re-adhering the chip to the mount, no one has
mentioned that problem. Iz it me or the medication?
So Dr. T., with your material science expertise, please help us out. Is
it possible to remount a factory mounted V-M chip back onto a reel so that
it is in the correct position for the orignal stereo effect?
