I don't know what painting a screen silver will do, but the lenticular

Perhaps this is just an assumption... maybe a preference, or just an old
wives tale... but it ain't necessarily so... 8-)

Personally I prefer the smooth screens... I examine my images much too closely
to be satisfied with the ribbed look of lenticular. To me it's almost like
pixelating the image.

Perhaps the reason there are so many is that the few larger manufacturers
decided this would be best for us... or them!

Smooth screen material is available in a variety of sizes, usually limited
by the width of the role... and more importantly... various degrees of gain,
or reflectivity is available. Prices vary with the manufacturer, size and
type of material.

Of course buying just the material means you have to devise you own frame... I
find that mush easier to do that painting a screen... and much less painful
that looking at some images on a lenticular screen 8-)
