Since no one has answered this specific question of using silver paint on a
flat surface to make a screen; yes it does work. That's how I started with
twin projection. I now have the "official" lenticular screens, but a painted
one is fine to start with, to experiment and see if you want to proceed. It
may even work well at a larger size too, but mine was small for a starter
screen. I used Rustoleum silver spray paint on a piece of "foamcore"
artboard. Spray light even coats in horiz., vert, one diagonal and the other
diagonal( letting each dry before changing the direction). It worked very
well, but did have some "beaming" the closer you got to viewing along the
lens axis. It is very reflective so the image is bright.
