          Here's my angle on the frequent question of fitting moderns
          flashes on old stereo cameras.

          I wouldn't DREAM of filing down the old flash-shoe's knob.
          Instead, I've filed a groove in the plastic foot of a
          flea-market, slip-on flash.

          For the nicer flashes, like my Vivitar: I bought a used,
          remote sensor cable that fits the flash's removable electric
          eye sensor onto the camera's shoe and connects to the
          bracket-mounted flash via a coiled cable. I carved a groove
          into this foot, and therefore spared my nice flash and nicer
          cameras.
