When I took the Nikon School of Photography "course" about twenty years
ago (taught by two or three professional photographers under contract),
they taught that if you get two or three *good* pictures per roll, you're
doing very well.  Part of this was to emphasize that film is cheap and
only a small percentage will be good anyway, so that trying to conserve
film and save money by only taking perfect images wasn't a good strategy.
I've read books by professionals that say the opposite that every picture
should be perfect and pre-engineered to the last detail, but I personally
disagree with those professionals and agree with my Nikon Class pros.

But then, of course, all of those were "flattie photographers".  :-)
