I think I may have the same thing, although I've no idea what it's called.
Mine's a sort of fine black crackle finish and folds to abou 5 x 3.75 x .25
inches. There is no sign of a manufacturer's name on the viewer.

The picture carrier (where the cards sit) has a metal carrier which
slides out and contains edge clips for separated pairs of cards. This
carrier is reversible and the edge-clip spacing accomodates different
sized card on either side.

With mine, I got cards of two sizes:

- a pair of separated cards each 2 x 3 inches.

- four unseparated pairs 2.75 x 4.5 inches

All of these are from a series "Peeps into Many Lands" (a series of
36 real phoographs), Issued with Army Club Cigarettes" by Cavanders
Ltd London. Possibly, the viewer was distributed by the same
company.

I've had this for some time and don't really recall what I paid for it but I
wouldn't think more than $30 - 40 (paint is chipped and metal rusting
in spots).

.. Sid
