On this list, nothing that has ever (since I've been reading this
list -- and even before -- I've gone through and read all
the archives of postings before I joined) approached "flaming"
as defined as what goes on in USENET newsgroups, especially in the
.advocacy groups. Visualize expletive deleteds flying all over
the place regarding beamsplitters and users thereof. And folk
posting "2D RULEZ", and such. :-)

I find the signal to noise ratio of the photo-3d list extremely high,
much higher than the vast majority of newsgroups. The general quality
of posting (except for mine perhaps) is much higher and more well
thought out than the typical newsgroup.

I favor the current format of the list, but will admit that I
have the real-time-mail option, and not the digest option.

I read everything anyway.

P.S. - There once *was* a 3d-photography newsgroup, but the participants
changed the meaning of the group and used the group for non-3d-photography
related purposes. Having a list gives "control" to keep the subject
matter focused., A non-moderated USENET group could start talking
about nothing but frozen grasshopper carcasses found in Antartica in
the summer of 1857 (not the fall expedition). And "that would be that".
