Here in the US it is, unless you're willing to visit a real camera store
(not just a one hour photo shop).
Haven't found slide film in a grocery store, drug store, convenience store,
or department store (kmart, walmart, etc) in at least two years.
I can't remember the last time I saw film/processing combinations sold here
in the States. (If I've got my exchange rates right, the prices you quote
are quite reasonable!)

ps Just came back from holiday in the caribbian... slide film VERY scarce,
and mostly Kodak manufactured outside the west (poor quality control)
