So, to sum up we have:

IF any UV is emitted from the filament of a 2.5V bulb and IF any goes through the glass envelope and IF any reflects back from the reflector and IF it passes through the slide and IF it passes through the lenses, then it might reach your eyes where it could be damaging them during the 3 or so minutes that you use the viewer on the average per day. 

Makes me think twice before getting out on a sunny day without sunglasses. I personally don't like sunglasses. Should I be wearing any?
