Stereo? No problem!

Are you talking about stereo as an art form only? Stereo is certainly technically more complicated than mono. As a great man once said, "Stereo must be technically perfect to be good". Stereo sound is completely different. Presenting to the eyes two perfectly aligned images is always a challenge. That's the technical aspect only. I have no opinion regarding the esthetic/photographic aspect. Is that what you are talking about?
