I think viewing is the big issue. I think people found their Realist slides, etc. were languishing on a shelf somewhere because no one would bother to take out the viewer or projector and look at them. Look at how much more popular prints are than slides, even though slides are cheaper and give better color fidelity. Looking at slides is more cumbersome than looking at prints. 

Look at the number of people who have old slides tranferred to video tape, where they loose any semblance of detail, color fidelity, etc. Convenience is the overriding factor.

More than once I've contemplated trying a twin point-and-shoot setup and a ViewMagic viewer, just for the convenience of dealing with prints. Then I look at my Realist slides again and reason returns. Still, I'd love to devise an auto-feed mechanism so I could just sit by the viewer and push a button to change slides.-------- Peter Davis	"Education is not the	617/873-4145
