Newbie Questions

Hello All--

I've been reading the posts to this group for a couple of weeks now and have decided to take the plunge. I have a few questions that I'm sure some of you could help me with.

First of all, as I have yet to get off my butt and join NSA, I'm wondering if there's a Chicago stereo club you can put me in touch with. I have a Realist and I've shot a few rolls of film, but I want to get more involved in 3-d photography.

And speaking of shooting film, in the past I've both sent film to Kodalux for processing and mounting, and I've mounted it myself (which, because of my lack of manual dexterity, was a very tedious and time-consuming task). But, about a month ago when my slides came back from Kodalux, some of the pairs seemed not to be 3-d; has anyone had problems like this from them before? I feel I should take the slides apart and remount them. Anyway, the question of Kodalux's quality may be moot, as I understand they may stop processing stereo slides very soon. 

And finally, I like getting the shorter digests. I get my email at work, and I can read the posts a lot more discreetly in smaller increments.
