P&S, One shot, and E-6

What do P&S cameras, One shot cameras and E-6 have in common? It is my
observation and belief that they point the way to the eventual demise of film
based photography (tho not in my lifetime I hope - and a blasphemy that's
certain to evoke cries of foul).
With the 'masses' acceptance of quick shot images, and low demand for high
quality, the acceptance of digital photography is almost a given; that
coupled with the environmental impact of E-6 chemicals (and others) entering
our sewage systems, and heavy consumption of precious water resources to
produce such images, will further push film based images into oblivion.
So what does this have to do with 3D? Digital 3D cameras of course. Digital
3D images on computers can be printed, viewed on CRT's, and projected as
well. Hand held calculators were once very pricy objects used by a precious
few. Today, cheaper than a loaf of bread. Plumeting prices of digital
photography will plunge us into new discussions of the best digital recording
disk : which yields better color saturation; how does the latest 64 bit
storage disk work. People who are physically unable to travel might rent
optical CD's of still, or video 3D travel programs so that they might really
see the world. Yes, opportunity abounds.
