Re:2x2 Viewer Plans & Photos

I finally was able to dig out the drawings I did for Colin Clay
on his unique 2x2 home made viewer. This was an article in Stereoscopy,
March 1994, Series 2 - Number 18. Titled "Build Your Own Supavua"

Colin loaned me the one he built while I made the drawings and I must
say that I found it difficult to give it up and return to him... it
kind of spoiled me.

I created a "temporary" web page that will allow you to download 3 gif
images of the viewer, and 3 PCX images of the technical drawings. The total
package comes to about one meg of images. I don't know at this point if I
will continue to make this an actual page for the 3-D Web or not, as space
is at a premium and 1 meg is a lot of space right now. Time permitting, I
will try to scan the article, OCR it, and include the appropriate text also.

The gif images are scans directly from Stereoscopy. The quality isn't that
good, but it's all we have. The PCX files are PCX files because they
automatically compressed the best using PCX. These are B&W bitmaps of the
technical drawings at 300 dpi. If you don't have enough ram in your printer
to handle the image you'll have to use a paint program to reduce the image
and then print it out... or print it in sections and tape them together. 300
dpi was necessary to hold the fine print on the dimensions, etc.

If you're interested in constructing any type of 2x2 viewer I suggest that
you take a look at this one. There are some good ideas here and it might
save you from reinventing the wheel.

The page this information is on is NOT accessible through the home page of
the web site... you'll have to access it directly at:
