Realist maintenance questions

Has anyone had any experience "loosening" the film advance mechanism on
a later model Realist 3.5? The knob turns a little "roughly" with no
film, and takes a lot of effort to turn when advancing film.

I have taken the top of the knob off and cleaned everything. The film
spool itself turns smoothly. I believe I have read here that the brass
bushings should not be lubricated in any way. How about lubricating
the gears? Would a little light oil help the action without damaging
the other parts?

Could anyone recommend a good adhesive for tacking down the leather
trim?

Thanks!
