Yea!

I thought it was pretty imminent as the Waite Group stopped selling
the current versions of "Ray Tracing Creations" and said they had no
plans to reprint - a major surprise because it was *always* very hard
to find (around here) - always sold out. I figured that the 3.0 was right
around the corner because they were getting ready with a new edition concerning
3.0.

This gave me considerable heartburn because it happend without advance
warning, and I had been using it as a text book in my graduate computer
graphics class.

Incidentally, I'm getting ready to stick onto the ftp machine a
true stereo rendering of a visual pun on the "pooltable" theme.
It's rather computationally intensive, requiring 18 cpu hours
on our Dec Alpha for a 500 by 500 (each eye) view to be calculated.
Actually it was only 6 hrs per eye, but I had too much interocular
spread on the initial try so had to pull the right eye in a bit so it
wasn't quite so hyper.

THANKS
