Surprising Store Display

Gavin asked about the Rockport Stereoscope.
 Van Cort Industries manufacture stereoscopes and they made a high quality
pedestal mount/brass hood stereoscope for Rockport about 4-5 yrs ago. The
display kit included a couple of stands(short pedestal)for shoe display,
a block of wood with a brass plate with" Rockport" printed on it, and
a set of 6 stereo cards photographed by Van Cort. These views are of various
shoes in still life and table top settings and are really good shots.
I forgot what the theme was that tied together stereo and shoes but I think
it was durability and style that lasted through time.

One of these stereoscopes was auctioned at an NSA convention (I think last year
or the year before) by itself. Don't remember the price it brought.
