Funny you should suggest to John that a Realist would solve his changing 
settings problem on the FED. I have a similiar problem every time I use my 
Realist. I carefully set the distance on the hyperfocal distance, then go on 
about getting the proper composition and waiting for the right moment for the 
shot (I shoot mostly animals). After the exposure, I often find that the 
distance is set to infinity! Obviously, holding the camera in the "normal" 
manner, I am hitting the focusing knob with my right hand. I guess I still 
haven't gotten used to a camera that was designed for one-armed lefties with 
flat foreheads II:)
