As another note... I should add that I once mentioned how my Fed
Camera gave me very soft backgrounds, and was very disappointed
about this.

John B pointed out to me that the hyperfocal distances on the lens
are not accurate and should be checked.

I did check this and found that INFINITY is actually at the scale
marking of 3 METERS.  This is how it appeared while looking at a
piece of acetate taped to the film track, with a lupe.

I now have to shoot some film through the camera to confirm this
finding... should it be true... it would certainly explain the soft
backgounds I've been getting.

More after testing.
