Any Nimslo's for sale?

Trust me, I am doing my best to be 3-d "politically correct"
("thou not badmouth any piece of 3-d equipment or technique used
to record stereo pairs") . It's just not working very well...

Question: "How much is a Nimslo going for today?"

Answer: Until yesterday, not too much. However, after those
glorious reports from satisfied Nimslo users in photo-3d, herds
of stereo photographers are now ready to dump their Realist
Customs or trade them in for a Nimslo. As a matter of fact,
HARRY POSTER, who was ready to strike again in another
"unauthorized" 3-d dumping and sell a stock of 12 Nimslo's for
an average of $25 a piece, decided to hold on them as his phone
is ringing off the hook. DALIA MILLER is working feverishly on
a second edition of the impressive "Inside 3-d" vol. 2, No. 3,
newsletter. The only difference between the first and second
editions is the price of the Nimslo, which, as I understand it,
has skyrocketed. A few of them (Japan models in mint condition)
have been added to the auction, while the Realist Custom is
officially removed from it as the bidders have canceled their
bids and are trying to get an open line in Harry Poster's phone
line. As of me, I am very sorry to have recently sold and
mailed out my very own "made in Japan" Nimslo. Live and learn
for me. I am now using one of these 10x loupe that I got from
Alexander Klein carefully looking over and reevaluating my
Realist Custom vs. Nimslo slides.

If you are still reading at this point, here are some serious
thoughts:

Every camera/technique/format has its own merits and uses.
Personally, I am not a "purist". I just like good stereo
photography. I belong to several slide sharing circuits and
over the last two years I have previewed and evaluated the work
of at least 100 stereo photographers all over the world. The
percentage of Nimslo slides is very small. In many cases I have
felt that the results from this camera did not compare favorably
with the results from a regular stereo camera. This might also
be because the viewer used to view the slides is optimized for
the Realist format, but there is certainly more than that.

An unmodified Nimslo camera is not a general-purpose 3-d camera
like a Realist. If you expect to use it to shoot landscapes,
then you are going to be very disappointed. The Nimslo camera
has several specialized uses (including the one of passing it to
the "I-am-afraid-of-manual-control" spouse - note: I say this
without any gender specification). I have seen good slides
taken with it. If you have reasons to prefer an unmodified
Nimslo over a regular stereo camera then go ahead and enjoy it
but be aware of its limitations and be ready to try something
different/better.
