EXPO2 Premier:

Last night was the first official showing of the Photo-3D EXPO-2, so I
thought a brief kick-off posting would be appropriate. For myself and two
other lucky list members that happen to live in Northern Colorado near Joel
Alpers, last night was a unique and special evening. It began with the
ceremonial un-twisting of the beer cap. Next, we settled into lawn chairs in
Bert's basement, where the visual 3-D orgy began.
I believe about 140 slides where projected. In addition there where a number
slides that where looked at through a viewer only, many 2x2 pairs, a few
Viewmaster reels, a quantity of Holmes prints, some Viewmagic prints, a
number of lenticular prints, and probably something I've forgot.
We began viewing at 7:30 in the evening, and by the time I left at midnight,
I could barely fuse the road ahead of my car! It was quite a night.
As a tribute to the efforts of the man that put EXPO-2 toghether, I humbly
offer the following:
In Colorado lived a man named Joel
>From individual slides, he made the EXPO whole
Stereo photos he collected
For 3D'ers, all would be inspected
To this man we owe a great toll
I realize it may be a while before those who participated actually get the
package, but it will be worth it!
