I just got back five rolls worth from Kodalux last Saturday. Took
nearly three weeks as did the previous "batch" around Xmas time.
Previously it took a very consistent 2 weeks.
I use Kodak pre-paid "mailers", specifically, the "PK-36" one which
I buy 10~15 at at time from B&H (probably should buy even more at
a time, they don't last as long as they used to). I include a check
for $4.20 along with the film in the mailer to cover the difference in
price for the Stereo mounting. I also include a little 1"x3" sign printed
in bright red large letters "STEREO MOUNT SLIDES" or something like that and
rubberband it and the check to the film. Sign on the outside facing out.
They can't help but notice. :-)
> Do I have to provide the mounts?
No, they mount it in cardboard mounts. You probably want mounts
yourself to remount those which need it (most are "okay"
and those which belong in the trash can don't matter). It's not
hard to take one apart for remounting.
They told me the mounting is done at the Dallas plant, and to send it
to that plant (address on the mailer). But then, it's been taking longer
so maybe they moved it? Don't know....
> Is it for both Kodachrome & Ektachrome (E6)?
Yes. Actually, one can send them Fuji film (etc), and I have, despite
the mailer saying "for Kodachrome and Ektachrome" on it. I asked them
on the phone, and they said that they "support Kodak film and film
is compatible with their processes" or something bland like that.
Feels funny putting Fuji film in a Kodalux mailer though. Haven't
done it much, but have a few times.

Uh..... we might want to contest that assertion along with the folk
up in Seattle.... I can't imagine more clouds than here (and ours
continuously drizzles from November through May or June). Kinda, mostly. :-)
