Actually, there's no other way to show it, since it wasn't released (and
wouldn't make sense) without the 3D. Be forewarned, however, that The Mask isn't
really a "3D movie" in the sense that you are probably thinking of it. Some 80%
to 90% of the film is flat. It's a story about a psychiatrist who finds some
kind of voodoo mask; when it puts it on two or three times during the film, you
put on your glasses and there follow "psychedelic" 3D sequences. The 3D was
originally printed in anaglyph, making this one of the VERY FEW movies (those of
you who know my testiness on this point will detect my teeth gnashing) ever
released in anaglyph format rather than polaroid.
